About Us
Amplifying the people's stories that matter
The Companion is a group of student journalists from the University of the Philippines Baguio. The name of the publication comes from the very essence of journalism–to write with, by, and for the people. It aims to disseminate credible, relevant, and timely news and information to give light on issues that affect the people, particularly the community in the Cordillera. It intends to report news with virtue, upholding the standards of journalism in every article while honing the skills of its young journalists.
The Companion aims to deliver news for the whole nation, it will also often contextualize the reports in where the publication is located–Baguio City and the Cordillera.
Through delivering foremost articles, the publication will highlight the importance of amplifying the people's stories that matter to them and to be a genuine companion.
